Hi world, this is my blawg. My name is Kia and I’ve been writing music reviews for almost a decade -for time reference, when I started, people were listening to AWOLNATION and wearing v-neck tees.  (Side-note: did AWOLNATION sail so Imagine Dragons could soar?) I have also been emphatically documenting my eats for a long, long while, except that I’m shy and don’t actually share 98% of what I photograph. I’ve always wondered how to combine these two niches into a life path mega-zord–when people ask me what my dream job is, I usually say Tiny Desk Concert audience member or food mag editor? What’s an indecisive, hungry writer to do?

Rather than choosing between food or music, I decided to go ahead and throw an ampersand in there. Food (!!!&!!!) music! I want to write, document, and photograph both, to learn about the ways they inform and inspire each other. I want to hang out with chefs and listen to music with them while they cook. I want musicians to play songs and feed me little bites of their favorite snacks. I want to offer polite pairing suggestions: album & a meal, cocktail & a song, eat this while listening to that. Maybe I’ll share a recipe here and there, maybe I’ll make a zine, maybe I’ll think of all kinds of other ways to milk this piping-bag dream.

I’m aware that the food world is crawling with lumpy, unsalted content and I give anyone reading this full permission to mock me if I change my Linkedin bio to say blogger, but I hope I can share a tasty bite here and there that gives you a tiny soul/tongue/earhole tingle. (I promise to never say the word earhole again.)
